Why do crafts make great Christmas presents?

1. Crafts make great Christmas presents for kids who have everything.

Many crafts are single use so once the project is complete, the box can get recycled, and you have a new craft to display in your house.

2. Crafts can be an awesome present if you do not want to buy toys.

Giving a child clothes, books, and essentials might be needed more, but crafts are fun and can keep children occupied for hours.

I love giving crafts as gifts to avoid duplicate gifts and to prevent another toy to end up at the bottom of the toy box.

The best arts and crafts gifts can also be great for older kids who do not want toys anymore, but still want art supplies or a simple craft to work on.

3. Crafts can be great to work on hand-eye coordination for young children.

Younger kids can use their little hands in a fun way by putting together crafts or a fun project and making handmade gifts for others.

They can have so much fun creating their works of art and they can make such a special gift that they work hard on.

What are some craft toys for kids?

1. Rock Painting

Rocking painting has been around for a long time, but it used to be just walking around looking for rocks and painting them with a paint palette you own. Now you can purchase kits that include the rocks and all the supplies you could need to paint rocks. Sometimes included supplies consist of rock tattoos, stickers, googly eyes, and more. My younger children love painting their own rocks to give as the best art gifts or keep in their room.

2. Tie Dye

My daughter and I had a great time tie dying shirts, socks, and scrunchies together. She had learned about tie dying online and decided she just needed to try it herself. These tie dying kits include the painting powder in squeeze bottles that just need a little water added to them. They also include rubber bands of different sizes to tie the clothes in different ways, and a list of different tie dye patterns you can try yourself. The bright colors just look awesome on your new clothes and can make beautiful gifts as well.

3. Make Your Own Nightlight

Follow these detailed step-by-step directions with images of each step to learn how to make your very own night light. Anyone can make their very own dinosaur lantern night light, unicorn, and more with these awesome nightlight kits. The battery for the LED light is replaceable and the lantern does not require plugs or wires. Help your child glue the pieces to the inside of the lantern jar with the provided glue. Each kit comes with an LED light and a spare LED light as well, so you get to enjoy your lantern as long as you want. Your child can enjoy this awesome craft every night when they go to bed.

4. Sand Art

As a child, I would do sand art at summer camp and at other extra-curriculars I attended. It was a simpler craft that could be done by kids of all ages and did not require many supplies. Most sand art kits will come with sand in multiple colors, bottles to pour the sand into, a stopper for the bottle, and sometimes a funnel to pour the sand into the bottle. Pour the colorful sand into the bottles in different designs using the provided funnel and place a stopper in the top of the bottle once you have filled the entire bottle with sand. Be careful not to shake your sand art though or all the sand will mix together, and you will lose your awesome design.

5. 3D String Art

Make your very own light-up string-art lantern at home. Start by inflating the provided balloon to give yourself something to wrap the string around. Soak the string in a special glue that will stiffen out the string once dry. While the string is still wet, wrap it around the balloon in fun patterns to give your string art an awesome look. Allow your string to dry and then remove the balloon to reveal a beautiful string-art design you can hang anywhere you would like.

6. Window Art Sun Catcher Kit

A unique new way to make window art sun catchers is by using gemstone stickers. This craft kit provides the SunGemmer Color Guides, 1320 SunGemmer Gemstone Stickers, Double-sided mounting tape, and 2 SunGemmer Window Designs. The guides help show you where to place each gem and are removed to reveal the suncatcher at the end. Place the gemstone stickers in different patterns to create beautiful suncatchers to hang in your windows.

7. Make Your Own Jewelry

If your child, or the child you need to purchase a gift for, loves jewelry, pick up a kit for them to make their own. This kit has everything you need to make your own necklaces, bracelets, clip-on earing, key chains, and more. Simply unscrew the end of the bracelet or necklace to string the beads onto them, and then screw the end cap back on tightly. Enjoy this kit with the beautiful beads included, like the metal beads, beads with dangle, rainbow beads, glass beads, and diamond beads. Use the included beads to make other great pieces of jewelry as well.

8. DIY Magic Bouncy Balls

This awesome craft activity kit is a 3-step science experiment that seems like magic. Kids can make their very own colorful bouncy balls using multicolored magic crystals put into breakaway plastic ball molds. Have your kids assemble the plastic ball molds and fill with the powder in different colors. Submerge them in warm water to harden and then remove to rest for 10 minutes. After the powder has hardened, you will have colorful bouncy balls to play with for hours. Make sure to keep small objects away from young children because the label does state there is a choking hazard.

9. Paint Your Own Character

Similar to painting your own rocks, kids can paint characters from their favorite shows, like Paw Patrol and Bluey. These kits typically include the character statues to paint, paint brushes, paint, and stickers to add details to the characters.
